I made this entertainment for us while we were stationed in Virginia.  It is eight feet tall, five feet wide, and two feet deep.  The TV shelf slides all the way out of the recess and swivels.  It has a 200# capacity.  I recessed lights behind the TV and also on the lower half.  When you open a bottom door, lights come on to illuminate the adjustable height shelves.  The shelf clips thread into a solid brass standard and the shelves set onto the shelf clips in a groove on the shelf.  If you grab an item on the shelf, the shelf will not slide forward and off the back clips causing everything to fall.  Two of the shelves are made specifically to hold DVD's, and they slide out to allow movie goers to browse the titles.  The unit frame is full 1 inch red oak while other pieces are 7/8 inch thick red oak.  The unit is trimmed with black walnut.
