This is the table I am currently using. It is only a four person table, so I might upgrade later to the black walnut table. The apron is douglas fir, but that is only because I did not have the tools I have now. One of these days that doug fir will be removed and replaced with cedar, and when that happens, there will be no metal at all on the table. The entire table is wood (except for the tile). The top sets on the base allowing it to be moved easily. It has been through three Navy moves and is still standing proudly.
I do not have pictures of this table completed, unfortunately. It was setup and worked great for about six months, but it did not meet the customer's needs. I currently have the table and will probably use it myself. If you are interested, let me know. I estimate the table is worth $3000, at least. It is black walnut with mahogany inlay. The table top mahogany is an actual piece, but the table leg outside corner is a mahogany inlay. The table top has four coats of polyurethane while the rest of the table has two coats. The table has a removable leaf that, when in place, allows comfortable seating for eight.
