This beauty was made of Ipe.  Each Ipe board has a slightly different color, and as such, the owner of this plaque chose his wood himself from the selection I had.  He chose a more red board, and after the shellac finish, it had almost a hologram effect.  The trim pieces are basically a crown molding with compound miters.  Ipe sinks in water, and as such, this item weighed probably 25-30 pounds without the sword.
